If you are throwing plastic in the garbage after use or you
do not care for waste plastic bags then think again. Nepal government is
planning to produce petroleum from plastic materials in Nepal. Soon there will
be petroleum production in Nepal. Nepal NAST has finalized its system for
petrol production from plastic. Waste plastic which is thrown in the garbage can be
used for making petroleum. In Nepal, this is a totally new concept although for developed
countries this is not a new concept. NAST Nepal is in the final stage to bring the necessary
machinery for the production process. On average from 1-kilo plastic can be used to
produce 700 ml of petroleum and if use bottle cap can produce up to 800 ml of
petroleum. Before there was no technology like this and plastic spoiled
environment but after this technology will come to Nepal plastic can be
collected for production purposes. In Kathmandu city alone near 1000 metric tons of garbage produce, every day, and within that, about 20% is plastic material. In
calculation, about 20 tons of plastic materials produce from Kathmandu only. From
1000 kilo plastics can produce about 700 liters of petroleum. That means about
140,000-liter petroleum can be produced in Kathmandu every day and if include
Biratnagar, Birganj, Narayangadh, Pokhara, Dhang, Nepalganj, Mahendranagar the
total production could reach 300,000 liters. From this idea, no fertilizer materials
can be useful and this is very good for the environment. After the 2015 earthquake in In Nepal, there is a high amount of plastic garbage is stored while distributing dry
food to earthquake victims. There is a lot of plastic materials than in the back days. From
plastic materials can be produce diesel, petrol, etc. there is mass production
in America, Africa, and other countries from these methods.
